Picnic at Eaton Manor

About 20 people turned ou for the ShACC picnic visit to Eaton by kind invitation of Nicky and John Cariss. Perhaps picnic is not quite the right word as we were the first group to use their newly renovated function room. The luxury was greatly appreciated as the weather would have made outdoor eating most uncomfortable.

Not only the people, but also the cars, were sheltered as many of us parked in the archery range.

To show our appreciation, a collection was made in aid of Afghan refugees which raised £62.

For several years before lockdown Eaton Manor hosted a classic car meeting which raised thousands of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support. With a beautiful setting and side attractions such as radio and model railway clubs it was one of our favourite car events.
