North Wales run 2008

Several people had planned to go to Capesthorne Kit Car show but it was cancelled just three days before the event.  However,  as people had planned a day out anyway, we quickly commissioned Doug McCusker to `design` us a run.

The weather was warm and sunny and 11 cars met at Mile End -  almost a record.   Up the A483/A5 to St. Martins, Overton to Llangollen.  Coffee at the Horseshoe Pass where we miraculously managed to all park together in spite of `millions` of motorbikes.  Unfortunately Lesley and Linda in the Cobra were having trouble with fuel presssure  and very reluctantly decided to return home.

Then it was off to Llyn Brenig via Ruthin.  This is such a beautiful spot which some of us had visited on Doug`s run last September.   For future reference, those who opted for a meal in the cafe reckoned the food took so long to come they must have been cooking over a candle.  They were still finishing their meal when the picnickers had eaten, walked across the dam, visited the underwater glass viewing station and returned to the car park ready for the off.

A couple of thunder storms came out of nowhere on the way back which made some of our number a trifle wet. However, they didn't last long or damp the spirits but may have contributed to us getting well strung out and using diffferent routes home.
